Mastering mindset shifts can be a challenge for all of us. It’s easy to eat well and exercise when you feel inspired……that’s the truth of it. But what happens when you don’t feel inspired? What happens when you dread the week starting and don’t want to get out of bed?

 

That’s when the mindset work comes in. We have to do that work to make us resilient in the face of feeling …..blah and miserable.

 

One of the most powerful things you can do to help you dig deep and stick to your guns is to change your focus. It’s not about “positive thinking” or pretending to be happy when you aren’t.

 

From feeling resistant to working on your goals to wanting to work on them. This is one of the mindset shifts we have to master in order to achieve our goals.

 

There are lots of ways to shift that focus but one of them is to focus on what you want rather than dwelling on what you don’t want.

 

Instead of: “I’m so tired, I don’t want to do this, I don’t feel like it, I hate doing this, I don’t enjoy my life while I’m doing this” etc…..

 

Try: “I want more energy, it would feel great if I wanted to do this everyday, once I do this I’m going to feel better, imagine how this will feel once I’ve mastered it”

 

The difference this makes is huge!! By the time you’ve finished focusing on the outcome you want and how you want to feel, you will have enough energy to do it.

 

It takes time, it takes practice but it really is worth the work! Everyone develops their own way of shifting. In the end you barely have to try any more and it just happens by itself. Sure sometimes you have to help it along.
